Welcome to AsktheMCSE.comThis site is about to undergo a major reconstruction as I add content relevant to the new Win2K exams. I've put it off about as long as I can. If there is any content you would like see added to this site please email the webmaster, and I will see if I can incorporate your requests into my new design. This is my contribution to the MCSE wannabe community. I have created this site to help all you future (and current) Network Admins locate information and study tips for passing the Microsoft Exams, but be forewarned you will not find any brain dumps on this site. I strongly feel that brain dumps are the main reason(if not the only reason) that the Microsoft Certifications have been devalued over the last year or so. I don't think any rational person can disagree with the idea, that it is much easier to memorize questions than it is to retain knowledge. Sooner or later (if you plan on working in this field) you are going to have to diagnose and repair networks and I can tell you that memorized questions are not going to help you a bit. You have to really understand the operating systems and components to effectively troubleshoot networks. Maybe I'll be able to help you understand a little better after you leave this site. My Quest I began my quest for MCSE status in January of 98
and after taking a couple of months off ( to let my brain rest) in June, finally got
finished up in September. I have since started to work on my MCSD and hope to have it
finished up soon. I started my quest by taking a continuing Ed course at a local
university, and I highly recommend any one pursuing this to consider a course, but you
don't have to. I relied heavily on the Transcender Exams, Microsoft Press
Books, and the Exam Cram Series.
I also used some of the better sites on the net. One such place is Tech Republic
